How Does Currency Conversion Work in SellerLegend?
Exchange Rate Source
SellerLegend retrieves conversion rates from the European Central Bank (ECB) and refreshes them every 6 hours. The system uses mid-market rates with historical data extending back to January 4, 1999.
Historical Rate Application
The platform applies the exchange rate from the transaction date rather than the current rate. For example, a sale from May 7, 2016 converts using that specific day's rate, preserving financial reporting accuracy across date ranges.
Account Groups for Unified Reporting
Sellers operating across multiple Amazon marketplaces can create Account Groups with a default currency. This allows consolidated financial views -- converting USD and JPY sales into GBP, for instance -- without manual spreadsheet work.
Verification Capability
Users can access the Foreign Exchange Rates screen by clicking the Selected Currency button to review all historical rates applied to their data conversions.
Important Limitation
These rates serve analytical purposes only. Amazon, your payment processor, or your bank may use different rates for actual financial transactions, potentially explaining discrepancies between SellerLegend reports and actual deposits.
The system prioritizes maintaining consistent, historically-accurate financial records rather than matching real-world settlement rates.
