Why Are Prices and Fees Sometimes Wrong for Pending Orders?

SellerLegend displays estimated pricing and fees for orders in Pending status because Amazon withholds actual financial details until orders ship.

Data Limitation

Amazon does not send the actual item price, discount amounts, or fees for pending orders. These only become available once the order transitions to Shipped.

Estimation Sources

SellerLegend bridges gaps using product listing prices and estimated fees from Amazon's Product API. However, these estimates can be inaccurate if product listings lack complete information, particularly shipping weight.

Visual Indicators

Pending orders display prices and fees in red italics, while confirmed shipped orders appear in regular black text.

Discount Handling

Amazon doesn't report promotional discounts on pending orders, so SellerLegend sets discount percentages to zero temporarily. This may deflate promo unit counts for recent time periods.

Resolution

Once orders ship, Amazon provides complete financial details, and SellerLegend automatically updates records with verified data, replacing placeholder estimates.

Troubleshooting

To improve fee accuracy, ensure product listings include valid shipping weights, as this information influences Amazon's fee calculations.
