Key Insights and Analysis Strategies
1. Stockout Risk
Identify products where Days of Inventory Left is less than Restock Lead Time, and external stock is insufficient to bridge the gap.
2. Overstock / Capital Drain
Flag items with high Inventory Tied Cost, low velocity (< 0.2/day), and Age Level >= 3. Consider promotions, repricing, or liquidation.
3. Profitability vs. Exposure
Audit products with low/negative profit per unit relative to tied-up inventory cost.
4. Phantom Inventory
Compare Local Inventory against Amazon's display to identify cross-marketplace duplication issues.
5. Aging and Long-Term Storage Fees
Identify products with Age Level 4-5 and very low velocity (risk of LTSF).
6. Refund Risk
Flag products with Refund % > 5-10% paired with non-zero Unsellable inventory.
7. Inbound Stock Planning
Identify high-velocity products (> 5/day) with zero Inbound and Days of Inventory Left < 10.
8. Manual Data Validation
Regularly audit In Transit/In Warehouse entries for accuracy.
Advanced Multi-Criteria Strategies
SKU Rationalization
Filter for Velocity < 0.1/day, Age Level >= 3, Refund % > 5% to flag discontinuation candidates.
Cash Flow Optimization
Filter for Inventory Tied Cost in top 20% AND Total Cash Value in bottom 40% to unlock working capital.
Top Sellers at Risk
Filter for Velocity in top 20% AND Days of Inventory Left < 7 to prioritize immediate reorders.
